Highlights & Academic Statistics
The results show that our strategy is working.

  • Despite arriving in the fifth grade performing on a second or third grade level in reading and math, at the end of one year at KIPP Bayview, our fifth grade students outperformed their peers in neighborhood schools on the California Standards Test (CST).
  • By the end of sixth grade, KBA students outperformed all neighborhood schools on every section of the CST and surpassed the SFUSD average in math and tied the district average in English Language Arts. These results prove that our students are making dramatic progress in reading and math.

The Normal Curve Equivalent (NCE) measures how a student performs compared to the rest of the country. Scores remain exactly the same when students have made exactly one year of progress. Students' scores show an above average growth after each year at KIPP Bayview Academy.

Students in California are required to take the California Standards Test (CST), a standards-based test, each academic year. The CST measures how well students have learned a pre-determined set of academic skills. The CST allows us to determine how well KIPP Bayview is performing compared with demographically similar neighboring schools and compared with the San Francisco Unified School District.
